Blur Area Shape
Blur pixels inside a rectangular selection.
Blur pixels inside an oval selection.
Blur everything outside the selected blur area.
Blur Radius
Blur radius in pixels.
Increase it to make the bitmap area softer.
Blur Position and Size
X position of the blur area.
Y position of the blur area.
Blur area width.
Blur area height.
Leave size fields blank to extend the blur to the edge of the BMP.
Blur Area Rotation
Rotate the blur area by this many degrees.
You can also rotate it in the preview.

What is a Bitmap Blurrer?

This free online browser-based program blurs BMP (bitmap) images. You can blur the entire BMP or apply the blur only to a selected area, for example, to hide a license plate in a bitmap photo or soften a readable label in a scanned BMP. You can choose a rectangular or oval blur area. You can also invert the effect, so the tool keeps the selected area clear and blurs everything around it. The radius option controls the blur strength: smaller values create a light softening effect, while larger values make the selected pixels much harder to recognize. Use the left and top values to move the blur area, and use width and height to make it larger or smaller. If you skip the position values, the blur starts from the upper-left corner. If you skip width or height, the blur continues to the edge of the BMP. Left and top may also be negative, so the selection can sit partly outside the BMP when you need to blur along an edge or corner. The rotation angle turns the blur area by the number of degrees you enter. You can also move, resize, and rotate the area directly in the input preview. The tool shows the blurred BMP in the output area, and you can save the final image as a BMP file. Bmp-abulous!
